Global Concept Design for the hotel and business center complex at Barcelona airport.
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat (BCN)
The Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) has two passenger terminals, a corporate terminal and an air cargo center. It is the first airport in extension and traffic in Catalonia and in 2012 it managed to be in third place in the European ranking and in the first in Spain in terms of passengers on direct flights.
In 2016 the total traffic for BCN amounted to 44,154,693 passengers, which represents a growth of 11.2% compared to the previous year and exceeded the barrier of forty million passengers per year for the first time. The airport has won several consecutive SkyTrax awards.
Barcelona-El Prat Airport Business Center
The business center of Barcelona-El Prat Airport has an area of 2,533 square meters, an extension that exceeds the Madrid-Barajas business center. The influx of business passengers, intercontinental passengers and the great business and economic movement of Barcelona has meant that this space’s usefulness has increased in recent years.
The area currently offers a 240 m2 paneled multipurpose room, five Boardroom-style meeting rooms, offices with all kinds of technology, rooms for resting (including a suite), dining area and even a fitness area with gym, change rooms and showers.
The project: Airum Room & Events BCN
Up To You Studio carried out the Global Concept Design for the new tender for this space. The Airum Room & Events BCN Project is part of a global project where interior design and graphic design come together to create an innovative space.
Ecological, natural and fresh materials, urban, but always elegant, predominate in interior design. Light colors are combined with wood, glass and textile. The style of the selected finishes, transmits serenity inside the airport and speaks in a certain way, the language of the city, such as the hydraulic pavement or the white bathroom tile. Warmth is transmitted by the acoustic comfort and the natural touch of the materials that seek, above all, the visual order and simplicity.
The furniture selected for interior design conveys warmth and comfort. It is responsible for providing color and defining the project style. The furniture is produced mostly in the Spanish state and contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions to the planet due to the proximity of its production.
In Up To You Studio we care about the environment and we try to contribute wherever we can.
The different lighting pieces provide greater energy efficiency to the whole project because they are mostly fixtures that support LED technology. With this level of style they follow the aesthetic lines of the furniture and bring class and simplicity thanks to its lines and colors.
With the aforementioned simplicity of the shapes and materials selected, a visual order is achieved in space through the modularity of elements and passageways. To emphasize the diaphanous character of the interior design proposal, custom furniture has been designed and thanks to the dividing panels that are placed at different points, a permeability is created between spaces, but at the same time it divides them creating sub-rooms.
Brand Identity Design: Airum Room & Events BCN
With a name that refers to the air, the brand identity for Airum Room & Events BCN was developed from all points of view of possible uses. The logo is composed of a Bold dry stick typeface, and is applied with an elegant and calm color palette composed of grays and a group of light olive greens. The combination has been developed from the interior design of the space. All graphic design elements are analogous to the colors and architectural elements of the different interior design spaces, creating a coherence and analogy between physical space and graphic space.
A Global Concept Design for Airum Room & Events BCN was developed from all points of view of possible uses. Allows you to create a meaningful unit, a 360º project where Interior Design and Graphic Design work in harmony to show the brand identity that reflects the objectives to be achieved.
